How To Reset ASUS Router Password?
There are various methods to quickly reset the ASUS router password and other credentials like the username. But we have added four different but straightforward ways to reset your username in no time. Once the router restores to its factory defaults, we’ll also learn how to set a new password on ASUS router. So without any due, let’s explore the resting methods first!
1. Using The Reset Button
The first and most common way to reset the ASUS router is appropriately using the reset button on the router’s body. This method is applied to all the ASUS routers since all have the reset button. If you have any ASUS router, new or old, this method applies to that router. All the steps for this method are included as follows:
Step 1: Locate The Reset Button On The Router’s Body.
- This is mainly given on the router’s back panel, and “Reset” is mentioned along the button.
- On a few ASUS models, the reset button is given near the WPS button. If you know where the WPS button is on my router, the reset button would be very near to it.
Step 2: Appropriately Press The Reset Button.
- Take a ball pen or paper clip with a tip to easily access such a small reset button.
- Use the tip of any item to press the Reset button. Keep pressing it for at least 10 seconds until the power LED starts flashing.
Step 3: Complete the Resetting Process.
- If you had done everything right, your router would have reset up to this point. The next step
- Remember, the new login details are the same factory defaults. Enter “admin” in both the username and password sections. If you are connected, it means that the router is reset.
- The next step is to set up a new username and password; we’ll learn this in the next section of how to set a new password on ASUS router.
2. Using the WPS button
Another method to reset your ASUS router to its factory defaults is using the WPS button. This method is beneficial if the resetting via reset button isn’t applied to your router, maybe since the button isn’t working or is damaged. But remember, this isn’t applied to all the ASUS routers since this button isn’t available on all devices. This is applied only on the following devices:
